Young Researchers' Days
Introduction: Young Researchers' Day
Since 2003, our Society has taken the initiative of organising, on average every two years, a day presenting recent work on the history of the Jews of Tunisia or likely to relate to it.
The aim was to enable master’s and doctoral students to present the main outlines of their research, to gather, where appropriate, information and guidance from qualified people, and to take stock of current research on the history of the Jews of the Maghreb.
Participation in these days was then extended to doctors who had recently defended their theses and, exceptionally, to established researchers, who are also invited to present their recent publications (book or article).
These days were held on university premises and received the support of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service of the French Embassy in Tunisia, the Fonds Social Juif Unifié and the City of Paris.
Since 2013, the geographical scope of the research has been extended to the whole of the Maghreb.
It was decided, from 2018 onwards, to transform this doctoral students’ day into a Young Researchers' Day, so as to make known the recent work of already established researchers.
